Grand Leaners opened its doors in December, 2021, just in time for the holiday season and has been going strong since that first day. Located in an old dry cleaners that operated for 75 years, Joshua the proprietor, hastily took the letter C off the signage out front as people kept coming in to get their dry cleaning done. Grand Cleaners changed to Grand Leaners and the name stuck.  Joshua, a photographer from Detroit, is a longtime “junkman” (a term of endearment in the industry) selling at flea markets and running an ETSY store. He has designed the store to not just be a place one finds unique and fabulous new clothing items but also a place one can discover, by slowly perusing and digging into the stores stock, lost personal histories, artifacts of the past and a new perspective on the impermanence of time, goods and things that make us us.
